Mich. AG to give deposition in slain stripper suit

DETROIT — Attorney General Mike Cox will give a deposition in a lawsuit claiming ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and others stifled the investigation into a stripper’s slaying.

Friday morning’s deposition will be in federal court in Detroit.

Attorney Norman Yatooma is suing Kilpatrick, the city and a former police chief for $150 million on behalf of Tamara Greene’s three children. Greene is rumored to have danced in 2002 at a never-proven party at the mayoral mansion.

She was shot to death in April 2003. Her murder remains unsolved.

Cox investigated the party, but says he found no evidence to prove it took place. He has referred to the rumors as an “urban legend.”

Cox is seeking the GOP nomination in the 2010 governor’s race.
