NEW DELHI - The Supreme Court Friday described as “unfortunate” union Communications Minister Kapil Sibal questioning the methodology adopted by the Comptroller and Auditor (CAG) in concluding that the public exchequer had suffered a staggering loss of Rs.1.7 lakh crore in the allocation of 2G spectrum.

“It is unfortunate,” said the apex court bench of Justice G.S. Singhvi and Justice A.K. Ganguly.

The court directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is conducting the court monitored probe into the 2G scam, to carry out its investigations without being influenced by any statement made by anyone in the media.
