NEW DELHI - The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to file a report on the level of pollution in the river Yamuna within two weeks after examining the sample of its water.

An apex court bench headed by Chief Justice S H Kapadia asked the Central Pollution Control Board to take three water samples near sewerage plant and file the report on pollution level.

The apex court issued the order in a case, which it had taken suo-moto cognizance in December 1994 on the basis of news report on the level of pollution in Yamuna. (ANI)
