NEW DELHI - Don’t vote for political parties which do not support the anti-graft Lokpal bill, social activists urged the public in a message as they pitched for a strong and effective draft bill.
India Against Corruption, a group of eminent social activists demanding civil society’s involvement in drafting the anti-graft bill, Saturday called upon the people to boycott parties which do not support strong anti-corruption laws.
“People are encouraged to take a vow not to vote for that political party, which does not enact Jan Lokpal Bill or Jan Lokayukta Bill, either in the centre or at state level, wherever they are in power. All those who take such a pledge together will form vote bank against corruption, a message from the group said.
The pledges can be registered on the group’s website www.indiaagainstcorruption.org.
