Advocates file criminal cases against Yeddyurappa

BANGALORE - Two criminal cases were filed Saturday in a Bangalore court against Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa by two advocates, a day after Governor H.R. Bhardwaj granted them permission to prosecute him over corruption charges.
“As of now, we have filed two complaints,” advocates Sirajin Basha and K.N. Balaraj told reporters here.
“We can file a total of six complaints in three cases. We will file the remaining ones on Monday,” they said.
The advocates had Dec 28 written to Bhardwaj, appealing for sanction to launch criminal proceedings against Yeddyurappa over corruption charges.
Yeddyurappa, his two sons B.Y. Raghavendra, who is a BJP member of the Lok Sabha, and B.Y. Raghavendra are among the people against whom the complaints were filed.
The complaints have been filed under various provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Criminal Procedure Code, they said.
