NEW DELHI - The Overseas Indian Affairs Ministry Friday said it was in touch with Indian missions in the US and Canada to provide assistance to Indian filmmaker Vijay Kumar.
“The ministry … is in constant touch with Indian missions in the US and Canada and awaiting further details and reports from them,” a ministry release said.
Vijay Kumar, who is from Mumbai, was taken into custody in the US in Houston and jailed for 20 days for carrying brass knuckles and “jehadi literature”. He is now being interrogated in Canada.
