Ex-Ill. Gov. Rod Blagojevich arrives at court

CHICAGO — Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (blah-GOY’-uh-vich) has arrived at the courthouse where jurors have been deliberating corruption charges against him.

A lawyer for his brother and co-defendant had said that attorneys in the case had been summoned to the courtroom. Michael Ettinger said he did not know the reason.

It’s the 14th day of deliberations. Jurors had asked earlier Tuesday for advice on filling out their verdict forms, suggesting they are nearing the end of deliberations. They also asked for a copy of the oath they took before deliberating.

Blagojevich has pleaded not guilty to trying to sell or trade President Barack Obama’s old Senate seat and leverage the power of his office for personal gain. His brother, a Nashville, Tenn., businessman, has also pleaded not guilty.
