Ohio woman who claimed wrong implants settles case
PITTSBURGH — Federal court records show an Ohio woman has settled her lawsuit against a Pennsylvania plastic surgeon she accused of installing the wrong kind of implants.
Brittany Daly of Steubenville, Ohio, sued Dr. Beverly Carl in March over the 2008 surgery.
Daly, who was 23 at the time, says she decided on silicon breast implants because Carl told her they were more durable than saline implants. But Daly says Carl’s office accidentally obtained saline implants and the surgeon allegedly told Daly’s fiancee about the mistake only after Daly was anesthetized — and he told her to go ahead with the saline implants.
Court documents don’t detail the settlement reached this week, and attorneys for both sides did not immediately return calls Friday.
