Jury deliberating Fla. Chinese Drywall case
MIAMI — Deliberations will resume in Florida in the first jury trial over homes built with defective Chinese drywall.
Jurors deliberated about four hours Thursday and will be back again Friday.
Armin and Lisa Seifart are seeking at least $4.3 million in damages from Banner Supply Co. over the noxious, corrosive drywall used in their Miami area home. That includes renovations and other direct expenses and $100,000 per month since they moved into the house in March 2008.
Banner insists that is too much and that only direct expenses should be paid.
Chinese drywall has been linked to possible health problems along with corrosion of wiring, computers, doorknobs and jewelry. Hundreds of lawsuits have been filed nationwide over the problem.
