NY dad sues over son’s hazing drinking death
GENESEO, N.Y. — A New York City father is suing a group of college students accused of plying his son with so much alcohol during hazing at a banned college fraternity that the teen died.
Nineteen-year-old sophomore Arman Partamian (AR’-mahn par-TAY’-mee-in) was found dead March 1 after drinking heavily for three days to gain membership in the unsanctioned fraternity at the State University of New York in Geneseo (jehn-uh-SEE’-oh).
In a wrongful death lawsuit filed in Queens, Hagop Partamian is seeking $2.5 million in compensation from six young men and two co-owners of the fraternity property.
Two former fraternity members are charged with hazing and criminally negligent homicide. A third pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor in return for three months of weekends in jail.
