ISLAMABAD - Two Pakistani judges have been issued show-cause notices for trying to influence the Lahore High court chief justice for their promotion and posting.

The Daily Times reported Friday that Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry Thursday issued the show-cause notices to the two judicial officers for trying to put external influence on him for their promotion and posting.

Nankana Sahib Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Saleem and Bahawalnagar Civil Judge Shahzad Raza were served the show-cause notices.

Justice Chaudhry told them to explain as to why disciplinary proceedings should not be initiated against them for being guilty of misconduct.
