Games lane challans cross 1,000-figure mark

NEW DELHI - The Delhi Traffic Police Monday crossed the 1,000-figure mark of challans issued against vehicles entering the Commonwealth Games lanes. The police have so far impounded 20 vehicles for entering the restricted lane.

So far, the traffic police have issued challans against 1,115 vehicles, of which 98 challans were issued Monday.

Police also issued 57 notices against those violating the Games lane restrictions.

“Ninety-eight challans were issued against vehicles violating the Games lane restrictions and 57 notices were issued today,” said Ajay Chadha, special commissioner (traffic).

More than 200 people have been sent notices for entering into the Games lane till Monday.

The Delhi Traffic Police enforced restrictions on the Games lane Sep 23 which will continue till Oct 14 when the Commonwealth Games are over.

The Games lane violators are imposed a fine of Rs.2.000.
