NEW DELHI - Hindu and Muslim groups linked to the ongoing Ramjanabhoomi-Babri masjid title suit on Tuesday welcomed Supreme Court’s rejection of a plea that sought deferment of Allahabad Court’s verdict in the case.

Reacting on the Supreme Court’s decision, Ravi Shankar Prasad, counsel for Hindu Mahasabha, said : “I am very happy that honorable Supreme Court has dismissed the SLP Therefore all the road blocks towards the holding of delivery of the judgement have been removed and we would expect, hope, and pray that the judgement would be delivered very soon.”

“The court has seen that those political parties who were trying to put hindrance in the path of the judgment, their stand was dismissed,” said Swami Shankara Bani, senior Member of Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Sabha.

“The petition that was filed in Supreme Court that judgment should not be allowed-that petition has been dismissed by the court and has cleared the way for the verdict. And I am certain the judgment will come either day after tomorrow or tomorrow,” said Hari Shankar Jain, another counsel for Hindu Maha Sabha, the Hindu litigants.

Meanwhile, Zafaryab Jilani of the Sunni Central Borad Of Waqf, the Muslim Litigants, said: “All contesting parties’ stand has been vindicated. All contesting parties wanted judgment. After the judgment we might sit in discussion.” (ANI)
