Bangladesh appoints new chief justice

DHAKA - Bangladesh President Zillur Rahman Sunday appointed A.B.M. Khairul Haque as the country’s chief justice effective Thursday, an official announcement said.
He will replace Md Fazlul Karim.
Haque is the seniormost judge at the appellate division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court.
