LAHORE - Pakistan Law Minister Babar Awan has been slapped with a legal notice for spending over 40 million rupees to please lawyers and gain their favour.

According to The Daily Times, Advocate Malik Tariq Aziz has sent a legal notice to Awan for ‘extravagant spending’ during his Multan tour and for issuing a grant of 40 million rupees to the Multan Bar Association.

The lawyer also alleged that the minister had chartered an Air Force aircraft for the tour and had paid five million rupees for the ’service’.

“The minister has no authority to spend public money,” the legal notice states.

It said the Finance Ministry should be directed by the government not to approve ‘wasteful’ bills. (ANI)
