39 migrants rescued off Spanish coast

Madrid, April 26 (IANS/EFE) At least 39 migrants, including a few from Bangladesh, have been rescued off the coast of Granada province in southern Spain, officials have said.
The majority of the migrants were from Sierra Leone and Guinea Conakry and included five pregnant women, all of whom were in an advanced stage of pregnancy, officials with the Spanish Maritime Rescue Services said Sunday.
The boat the people were travelling in was picked up Sunday some 20 nautical miles south of Motril town, after it was spotted by the coastal monitoring service.
The pregnant women were transferred to a hospital in Motril, while the rest of the migrants were taken to Motril and were given first aid and food.
