CHANDIGARH - A local court Wednesday issued notice to Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, industrialist Ness Wadia and two others from a firm that owns Indian Premier League’s Kings XI Punjab team for not showing their balance sheet to officials.
Chief judicial magistrate Jasbir Singh Sidhu issued notice to the four KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited owners after the registrar of companies (ROC) for Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh filed a criminal suit against them under various sections as they were not sharing their balance sheets.
In its petition, the ROC alleged that the firm incorporated in March 2008 should have filed the annual return within 60 days from the day of its Annual General Meeting (AGM). The AGM was held in September 2009 but the company failed to file any return.
“The accused company did not provide us the copies of balance sheet and the details of profit and loss. The court has issued notice to the owners of this company and the next date of hearing is July 24,” the petitioner’s lawyer told reporters here Wednesday.
