Federal agent denies framing people in Ohio sting

CLEVELAND — A federal drug agent took the stand at his Ohio trial and denied framing 17 people in an undercover sting.

Agent Lee Lucas testified Monday at his Cleveland federal court trial. He says he didn’t know that his paid informant had made up evidence during a Mansfield investigation in 2005.

The 41-year-old Lucas is accused of lying in written investigative reports and in court to bolster the informant’s claims. Lucas testified for about 90 minutes before court recessed for the day.

The informant, Jerrell Bray, is serving time for perjury and other crimes.
