CHANDIGARH - In a bid to avoid unscrupulous agents, the Haryana government has made it mandatory for the recruiting agencies and agents, who are facilitating job seekers to get an overseas job, to get themselves registered.

“We have advised all recruiting agencies to follow the provisions of the Emigration Act, 1983. Violators will face strict action, an official spokesman said Monday.

“Job seekers, who are interested in going abroad for employment should also update themselves about the provisions of this act. They should only apply through registered recruiting agencies.”

Emigration Act, 1983 regulates the terms and conditions of overseas employment, and protects and safeguards the interests of Indian workers desirous of going abroad for employment.
