Police: Mass. man killed neighbor over missing TV

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Authorities say a Massachusetts man fired several shots through the front window of a neighboring home, killing an 18-year-old woman, because he thought someone living there had stolen his TV.

Prosecutors say the TV wasn’t in the victim’s home and there is no indication she was involved in the theft.

A Hampden County grand jury indicted Daniel Horne on Wednesday in connection with the death of Brittany Perez.

Authorities say the 26-year-old Horne was angry because his television was missing and he thought someone next door had taken it. They say he fired several shots from a rifle into Perez’s Springfield home on Oct. 18, hitting her in the head.

Horne pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail.
