India slams ’slow’ pace of Pakistan’s 26/11 probe

NEW DELHI - Nearly eleven months after the Mumbai terrorist strike, India Friday underlined its growing disappointment at Pakistan’s slow and tardy investigation in the 26/11 attacks.
“We are concerned at the slow and tardy action against conspirators and those responsible for the Mumbai attacks,” Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao told reporters here.
“We have also drawn attention to the very, very slow pace of action and the trial against the accused,” Rao said.
Rao mentioned the meetings between foreign ministers and foreign secretaries of the two countries on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York that ended in a stalemate with New Delhi demanding concrete action from Islamabad against the 26/11 perpetrators.
India suspended the dialogue process with Pakistan after the Mumbai attacks in November last year and has made it clear many a times that any resumption of the stalled talks will depend on Islamabad’s action against the 26/11 attackers and the larger anti-India infrastructure on the Pakistani territory.
