Murder charge dropped against 1 in Harvard killing

WOBURN, Mass. — Prosecutors have dropped a murder charge against one of three New York men held in a fatal shooting at Harvard University.

Prosecutors said Tuesday that 23-year-old Jason Aquino is now charged with being an accessory after armed robbery and carrying a firearm without a license. Arraignment is Wednesday in Middlesex Superior Court.

He was originally charged with murder in the death of 21-year-old Justin Cosby, of Cambridge.

Jabrai (juh-BRY’) Jordan Copney and Blayn Jiggetts have pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the May 18 shooting in a common area at a Harvard dorm.

Authorities say the three men intended to rob Cosby of marijuana and cash.

None of the four was a Harvard student.
