HONG KONG - A Hong Kong fast-food worker whose rape of a 16-year-old colleague was filmed and uploaded onto the internet was Monday jailed for four years.

Police arrested Ho Ka-kit after a video of the rape in the office of the Yoshinoya restaurant in Hong Kong’s Shatin district was filmed by colleagues and widely viewed on the internet.

The attack took place in May 2008 when the victim was summoned to the manager’s office by Ho, who was also aged 16, and two work colleagues aged 16 and 19 who filmed the assault.

The girl, a virgin at the time of the rape, was too terrified to report the attack to police because she feared the video would be posted on the internet if she did, Hong Kong’s High Court was told.

The video was eventually uploaded last September. A co-worker, who viewed it, tipped off police who arrested Ho and the two others.

Ho was jailed Monday after being convicted of rape at an earlier hearing. His two co-workers were, however, acquitted of aiding and abetting the rape.
