Clarification: Teacher-Bible story

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — In a story Aug. 27, The Associated Press reported that the family of a student who said a science teacher burned a cross on his arm settled a federal lawsuit with the school district. Their attorney, Doug Mansfield, described it as an effort by the family to move past the incident.

Mansfield was quoted saying, “I think they regretted bringing the lawsuit.” The attorney says his quote in the story should have said that the family “regretted having to file the lawsuit.”
