LAHORE - Responding to a petition seeking registration of a criminal case against Pakistani artiste Veena Malik for indulging in ‘illegal’ activities in India, the Lahore High Court has summoned the Shalimar SHO by January 24.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Mehar Muhammad Yousaf issued the summon after a resident of Baghbanpura- Mian Muhammad Iqbal- filed a petition against Veena Malik, former girlfriend of Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Asif.

Through his counsel, Iqbal contended that, Veena had participated in a dance party in India a few days back, which was covered by international media, The News reports.

She was seen drinking wine with an Indian actor in the dance party, and this act of Veena had hurt the sentiments of the petitioner, along with millions of other Muslims of the world.

Iqbal said he had filed an application under 298 PPC (deliberate intent to wound religious feelings) at the Shalimar Police Station, but the concerned SHO had refused to entertain his application.

He therefore, requested the court to direct the SHO Shalimar to register a case against Veena.

Veena, one of the celebrities that took part in Bigg Boss, a reality show on Indian television, has been in news for her antics and intimacy with inmate Ashmit Patel in the Bigg Boss house. (ANI)
