ISLAMABAD - A petition has been filed before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking registration of a case against former president Pervez Musharraf on charges of being the author of the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), an executive order that removed all civil cases against political parties.

Shah Jahan Durrani filed the petition, taking the plea that Musharraf had introduced a black law and was the murderer of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and senior Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti, besides pursuing double standards in war on terror.

According to The Nation, Durrain also urged the court to initiate proceedings against Major General (retired) Rashid Qureshi and lawyer Dr Muhammad Ali Saif for wrongly advising Musharraf.

Monday’s petition is first filed before the Islamabad High Court after its restoration. It had been suspended for 16 months. (ANI)
