Traffic advisory issued for CWG shooting events

NEW DELHI - The Delhi Traffic Police Monday issued an advisory urging people to avoid Suraj Kund Mela ground and take Pul Prahalad Pur and Mathura Road instead for journeys between Faridabad and Delhi.
Shooting competitions for the Commonwealth Games would be held at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range. As security measure, the Suraj Kund Mela ground will remain closed from 6 a.m. till the completion of the event. The restrictions will remain in place from Oct 5 to 13, said Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Satyendra Garg.
The traffic police have also announced that the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has arranged focal point buses for spectators going to the stadium.
Traffic congestion is expected on Ring Road from national higway-24 Nizamuddin bridge to Sriniwaspuri flyover, Captain Gaur Marg, Outer Ring Road from Kalkaji Mandir and Modi Mills flyover, Ma Anand Mai Marg and portions of Mehrauli-Badarpur road. People are advised to avoid these sections of roads, said Garg.
