NEW DELHI - The Supreme Court’s rejection of the plea seeking deferment of the Allahbad Court’s verdict in the six-decade-old Ramjanambhoomi-Babri Masjid land title ownership row was hailed by all political parties and other leaders on Tuesday.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that apex court’s today’s decision is a welcome and the High Courty’s upcoming decision was awaited.
We welcome the decision of the highest court of the land, the Supreme Court of India, that Allahabad High Court can pronounce its decision as it is convenient to the court. So we expect that it will happen tomorrow (September 29) or day after, because already it was slated on 24 (September 24),” said BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar.
Congress party reiterated its stand that either the matter should be solved amicably or otherwise through court.
“Party has always maintained that either this problem should be solved through dialogues, otherwise whatever court decides should be acceptable to all concerned,” said Congress spokesman Janardhan Dwivedi.
Communist Party of India (Marxist) while welcoming today’s verdict said that the mosque problem could be solved judiciously.
“The decision of the Supreme Court is welcome. Now the way has been cleared for the Allahabad High Court to deliver its verdict and our party has stated it, and we reiterated that verdict of the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court should be respected by all. This is the judicial process which is only way to solve the problem,” said CPI’s General Secretary Prakash Karat.
Meanwhile, Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh also welcomed today’s rejection of deferment plea in the Ramjanambhoomi-Babri Masjid title ownership suit by the Supreme Court and it said that country is waiting for the final decision.
“A deliberate attempt was made to derail the judicial process by approaching the Supreme Court. The petitioner has no locus standi. That is why whatever the Supreme Court has said today (September 28) is the right thing, that petition deserves the dismissal and now the petition has been dismissed, the whole country is looking forward to tomorrow’s judgment. Tomorrow or day after, whenever it comes, country is waiting for the judgment. Once the judgment is out, it will be one step forward in this legal process. Then rest of the things will be deliberated upon afterwards,” said Ram Madhav, member of the National Executive Committee of RSS. (ANI)
