RANCHI - The Jharkhand High Court Thursday dismissed a public suit seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the assets of Chief Minister Arjun Munda and his wife, Meera Munda.

A division bench of Chief Justice Bhagwati Prasad and Justice N.N. Tewary dismissed the suit after hearing the lawyer of petitioner Shankar Prasad Chaurasia, who had filed the plea last year.

The petitioner charged that Munda and his wife had amassed assets beyond their known sources of income and CBI probe should be ordered.

Munda, who is in New Delhi, expressed happiness over the court order.

“We have faith in the judiciary,” Munda told reporters in New Delhi.

Munda was sworn in Sep 11 for his third term as chief minister.
