NEW DELHI - The Delhi government and other government agencies have been directed by the Central Information Commission to post all information relating to the Commonwealth Games on their websites, a Right to Information (RTI) activist said Saturday.
Information Commissioner Shailesh Gandhi directed the state government and other agencies like New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to post all information regarding the Games on their website, Subhash Chandra Agrawal said.
Appreciating the move, Agrawal said: “The RTI act can be termed successful when filing of RTI petitions may be minimised. It will be easier for the petitioners to get all possible information on websites of public authorities. This step will effectively check corruption and other malpractices presently deep-rooted in our system, as all the information is provided for the public.”
