NEW DELHI - The Supreme Court on Thursday listed August 9 for hearing the Aarushi murder case on the application moved by Aarushi’s father Rajesh Talwar seeking restraint on the media from irresponsible reporting in the case.
A bench comprising Justices Altamas Kabir and A K Patnaik, however, refrained from passing any fresh restraint order on the media from publishing/broadcasting matters relating to the case.
Senior counsel Pinaki Mishra and Dr Surat Singh had sought a fresh interim direction from the apex court to restrain the media from reporting on the matter.
The counsel submitted that the apex court had on July 22, 2008 restrained the media from any irresponsible reporting, but for the past two months there has been a slew of reports damaging the repute of the parents and the deceased girl.
Earlier on July 21, Aarushi’s parents had approached the apex court seeking to restrain media from irresponsible reporting of the case.
Aarushi was found murdered in her Noida home on May 16, 2008.
Her domestic help Hemraj was also found murdered in the same house the next day. (ANI)
