Clarification: Immigration-Following Arizona

BOISE, Idaho — In a June 25 story, The Associated Press reported that Arizona’s new immigration law requires police to check the immigration status of anyone suspected of being in the country illegally. The story should have made clear that police can question people about their immigration status during traffic stops or other suspected violations if there is “reasonable suspicion” they are in the country illegally.
