CHENNAI - Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director shwani Kumar said on Saturday the agency will abide by the Supreme Court’s decision on narco analysis test.

Inaugurating a three-day training module for media persons in Chennai, Kumar said the agency aims to hit at the roots of the corruption system.

He pointed out that till now no such tests have been conducted without getting the approval of the accused as well as the courts.

Replying to a query on pending of cases in courts, he said 71 courts have been added this year, making it up to a total of 117 courts through out the country.

Expressing concern on the changing face of the criminals adapting modern technology, Kumar said the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been equipped with state of the art technology to respond to the challenge.

He affirmed this year, more priority would be given to issues relating to human trafficking of women and children.

As people are reposing confidence in the organization it would be appropriate to address shortage in manpower prevailing within.

At present the agency disposes 1100 cases a year, but still there is a backlog of 300 cases per year.(ANI)
