LAHORE - Gherat Khan, a 7th class student of Peshawar Model School who was thrown out of school after he got married, is challenging his expulsion in the Peshawar High Court.
Gherat filed a writ petition saying he had been a student of the school for many years and was promoted to the 7th standard in the current academic year.
He said his father had died and his ill mother was finding it difficult to carry out the household work alone.
Gherat claimed his marriage to be legitimate arguing that he entered into wedlock after attaining puberty and with the consent of his mother and relatives, as is permitted by the Shariah, reports the Daily Times.
He said his wife could also help him look after his mother. (ANI)
