Man who held hostages at Clinton office gets bail
DOVER, N.H. — A judge has set bail for a New Hampshire man who took hostages at a Hillary Rodham Clinton presidential campaign office in 2007 and who was accused last week of cutting off his electronic monitoring bracelet.
Bail for Leeland Eisenberg was set Tuesday at $50,000.
Authorities say Eisenberg removed the bracelet one day after Judge Kenneth Brown gave him a “last chance” at freedom following repeated probation violations.
The New Hampshire Union Leader reports that a charging affidavit says Eisenberg was found intoxicated at his Dover apartment and had purchased cocaine while he was at large.
Eisenberg’s attorney says his client can’t afford bail. Eisenberg will remain in jail until a hearing for allegedly violating his probation in the hostage-taking case.
