LAHORE - The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notices to the interior secretary, the attorney general of Pakistan and the Punjab advocate general on a petition moved by Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, the alleged mastermind of the Mumbai attacks.
Lakhvi’s counsel had moved a petition in the LHC seeking the transfer of his trial from the anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi to Lahore.
In his petition, Lakhvi’s counsel, Khawaja Sultan, said his life is at risk from the personnel of Indian secret agencies, who were ‘roaming around the capital’.
It is possible that Indian agencies’ personnel might target me for pursuing Lakhvi’s case, the petition stated.
Sultan said Lahore was a safer place than Islamabad as there were not many Indian ’spies’ there, The Daily Times reports. (ANI)
