Court sets hearing on Dodgers ownership

LOS ANGELES — A court commissioner has tentatively set a May trial date to decide whether Jamie McCourt has an ownership stake in the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The decision Tuesday by Superior Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon means the issue won’t be decided by the start of the baseball season.

Frank McCourt, who says he’s the sole owner of the Dodgers, had been pushing for the ownership issue to be heard in February before the start of the season.

Jamie McCourt’s attorneys wanted the issue decided later in the year, as late as October.

Gordon will hold a two-day hearing in late March on how much spousal support Jamie McCourt should receive. The hearing was originally set for April 5, the start of the baseball season.
