LAHORE - Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has insisted that all of his actions as president were constitutional and validated by the Supreme Court, and had been taken to establish democracy in the country.
In an interview with a TV channel in Washington, Musharraf said Taliban leader Mullah Omar had never been to Pakistan, adding that Afghanistan was currently in complete control of Indian intelligence agencies.
The Daily Times quoted Musharraf as saying that he was sure that Mullah Omer was not in Quetta or Balochistan.
He said Mullah Omar “is believed to be directing the Taliban in their war against Hamid Karzai’s government and NATO troops in Afghanistan from Pakistan”.
Replying to a question, Musharraf said the Afghan government had spoken out against Pakistan under Indian influence. (ANI)
