RANCHI - A special court here Thursday remanded former Jharkhand ministers Harinarayan Rai and Enos Ekka - already in jail on graft charges - in custody of Enforcement Directorate for ten days for questioning.

Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court judge Pankaj Kumar accepted the plea of the Enforcement Directorate officials to remand the two in their custody for ten days. Both former ministers will be taken to Patna for interrogation.

The Enforcement Directorate officials had interrogated both Rai and Ekka in foreign transactions through hawala, and moved the PMLA court Tuesday to seek their remand.

Both Rai and Ekka are in judicial custody since Aug 17 this year. Both had surrendered in a vigilance court after non-bailable warrants were issued against them in June this year.

The vigilance department has already submitted charge sheets against Rai and Ekka for amassing wealth beyond their known sources of income.
