Man pleads gulity in Vt. in border child porn case
BURLINGTON, Vt. — An Ascutney man has pleaded guilty to charges he had child pornography on his computer when he entered the United States from Quebec almost three years ago.
Sebastien Boucher entered the plea Friday in U.S. District Court in Burlington. He could get 10 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for January.
Boucher also agreed to give federal agents the password for his computer.
Customs officials say Boucher helped an agent at the Derby Line port of entry access the computer. But after his arrest, investigators couldn’t examine the computer because they didn’t have the password.
Computer privacy experts had been watching the case for its broad policy implications.
He initially refused to release the password.
