Man accused of slaying family held without bond

NAPLES, Fla. — A Florida man charged with murdering his wife and five children has been ordered held without bond.

Thirty-three-year-old Mesac Damas is being held at the Collier County Jail in southwest Florida, where authorities say he has been placed on suicide watch. He did not appear at an initial court hearing Wednesday.

A judge has appointed Deputy Public Defender Michael Orlando to represent him.

Orlando says he will file a not guilty plea before his client’s arraignment in October.

Damas was deported to Florida from Haiti, where authorities say he fled to after killing his wife and five children at their Naples town house. An arrest warrant indicates he cut their throats and stabbed them.

how could that woman even think they would dismiss charges against her. (Casey) she killed her daughter everyone knows it and even her parents know it now. I mean who else would not look for their child for a month then all of a sudden she has come up missing. Stranger yet the poor girls body was found a block from her house. with stickers on her mouth and wrapped in a blanket. If someone kidnaped her they would not of done any of that she would have been thrown out and thats it.she is sick and needs the dealth penalty. Kill her like she killed her own daughter. I mean if u dont want your children then give them to the system or your family someone will take care of them if you wont. Dont kill them. I hope to open a home for throw away children here in kansas. anyone who doesnt want their kids can drop them off with me. I will walk the system and help find them good homes. or just keep them and love them. Makes me cry every time I read about a mother or father who has killed their children. a life for a life. Take one give me yours.
