Maine lobsterman, victim indicted in turf war

PORTLAND, Maine — A grand jury has indicted a Maine lobsterman accused of shooting another in the neck during a confrontation.

Knox County District Attorney Geoffrey Rushlau says 68-year-old Vance Bunker was indicted on four charges Thursday.

The grand jury, meeting in Rockland, also indicted the victim, 41-year-old Christopher Young, on a criminal trespassing charge.

Police say the shooting was part of a dispute over fishing territory around Matinicus Island, about 20 miles off the Maine coast.

Bunker was accused of assault and weapons offenses. Rushlau says Bunker is expected to plead not guilty on Sept. 30.
