GANDHINAGAR - Lawyers abstained from work in the Gujarat High Court Tuesday to protest the delay in filling up vacanies in the court.

The protest was called by the Gujarat High Court Advocates Association. The Bar Council of Gujarat also supported the protest.

Association president Yatin Oza said: “We are protesting the central government’s inaction.”

He said not a single high court judge had been appointed in the last three years.

Oza said the court functioned normally Tuesday but lawyers abstained from work as a mark of protest.
