LUCKNOW, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com) — After a long wait of 60 years, Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court will declare verdict in the Ayodhya title suit on Thursday. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has requested the people to maintain peace and order after the court pronounces it’s verdict on Ayodhya title suit.

Yesterday, Supreme court had rejected the petition by retired bureaucrat Ramesh Chand Tripathi who appealed the court to defer the verdict for a few months and to solve the matter through reconciliation. Now, High Court is expected to deliver this verdict on September 30, after 3pm. As one of the three judges leading this case, Justice Dharamvir Sharma retires on Friday, the court wants this case to be over before his retirement. Otherwise the case may get delayed further before the court appoints another new judge for the bench. Another option is there which will cause an extension to justice DV Sharma by the Chief Justice of the High Court.

The verdict in the Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute will decide whether the 2.7 acres of disputed land on which the Babri Masjid stood before it was demolished on December 6, 1992, belongs to the Sunni Central Waqf Board or to the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha.

All eyes are now to Lucknow bench of High Court till it passes it’s verdict on one of the most controversial cases in Indian history. As all the political parties have welcomed the decision of the Supreme court, Center has appealed for calm. In an advisory they have pointed out 32 different sensitive places where violence might occur after the verdict is given. In such cases, Central forces would be 10 minutes away and on call with extensive deployment near sensitive spots. India Air Force aircraft would be on standby to transport troops to eight places across the country.
