National Archive works to review more Kagan papers
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Bill Clinton’s presidential library is reviewing 160,000 documents from the Clinton administration that mention Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan. But there is no time set for when the papers can be released.
National Archives spokeswoman Susan Cooper said Tuesday that workers have begun to evaluate the documents and redact information that must be kept private. The National Archives operates the Clinton library.
The White House had asked Clinton’s library to speed the release of the documents from Kagan’s tenure as a Clinton adviser in the 1990s.
Cooper says personal data, matters involving national security and confidential presidential advice won’t be made public.
