PATNA - The family of Bihar businessman Satyendra Kumar Singh, who was abducted and murdered last year, will challenge in the Supreme Court the Patna High Court order granting bail to Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader Vijay Krishna.

A day after the court granted bail to Krishna, who along with his son Chanakya, has been accused of abducting and murdering Singh, the businessman’s family Friday said it will approach the Supreme Court soon against the High Court order.

Laxmi Devi, the victim’s wife, said her family had full faith in the judiciary and it was confident that the former MP would be sent back to jail by the court.

Krishna, who is in his late 50s and is currently in jail here, was arrested from Faridabad in Haryana last year in connection with the abduction and subsequent murder of the businessman.

In November 2009, the police filed a charge sheet against him under Section 302 (murder) and 364 (kidnapping in order to murder) of the Indian Penal Code.

Singh, 50, was abducted in the last week of May. His decomposed body was found floating in the Ganga river Jun 11.

Krishna’s son is absconding.
