Indian sports complex’s foundation laid in UAE

Ajman, Jan 12 (IANS/WAM) The foundation stone for a sports complex of the Indian Association was laid Wednesday in Ajman in the presence of M.K. Lokesh, Indian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, chairman of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, laid the foundation stone for the sports complex.

Sanjay Verma, Indian consul general in Dubai, and many senior officials and members of the Indian community attended the ceremony.

The land for the complex has been donated by the ruler of Ajman, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi.

Sheikh Rashid hailed the relations between UAE and India, saying he was always open to investors from various nationalities interested in establishing projects that help in the development of the UAE.

The Indian ambassador thanked the ruler of Ajman for his support to the Indian Association, a factor he said encouraged Indians to stay in the UAE.
