26/11 case: Bombay High Court reserves judgement on Kasab’s appeal

MUMBAI - The Bombay High Court on Monday reserved its verdict till February 7 on the plea filed by Ajmal Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks against the death sentence awarded to him.
A two-judge bench of Justices Ranjana Desai and R V More also reserved its verdict on the appeal filed by Maharashtra Government against the acquittal of LeT suspects Faheem Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed in the 26/11 case.
A Mumbai Special Court on May 6, 2010 sentenced Kasab to death on four counts.
Judge M L Tahaliyani awarded the death sentence for Kasab on-waging war against India, murder, conspiracy to murder, and participating in an act of terror under Unlawful Activity Prevention Act (UAPA).
Kasab, who is the 52nd prisoner on death row in India, was also awarded a life term on five other counts. (ANI)
