Lahore, Oct 19(ANI): The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the city’s police officials to provide protection to a love marriage couple, who claimed that their life was in danger.

Qaisar Abbas, a section officer, and Kashaful Aiman had got married against the will of the girl’s father, who in retaliation had registered a kidnapping case against Abbas.

Aiman had denied that she was kidnapped in a statement recorded before a magistrate, the Daily Times reports.

The couple had later approached the LHC to quash the case registered at Kot Shakir Police Station.

Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik also issued notice to the Jhang Police on the petition seeking the FIR’s cancellation.

During the hearing, the girl’s father Tasadduq Hussain had reportedly positioned armed men at all gates of the LHC. (ANI)
