CALIFORNIA (GaeaTimes.com) — The California Section 8, which prohibits gay marriage in California was repealed today by a Federal judge. The gay rights activists in California got a moral boost as the judgment came out. Judge Vaughn Walker in his ruling has termed the law as a violation of the 14th amendment. The ruling was passed in the landmark case of Perry v. Schwarzenegger.

The prosecutor’s argument that heterosexual marriages were superior as it was traditional and facilitated procreation was quashed by the judge. Judge Vaughn Walker observed that there should be no limits to marriage. The defendants are likely to appeal against this decision on Friday. The case seems to be heading for the Supreme Court.

The Lesbian And Gay Rights(LGBT) Activists firmly believe that this legal victory is only for California and not for America. If the case finally goes to the Supreme Court the results may be very unpredictable.
